Using the two previous sections on your Succession Planning Workbook, think about setting up a meeting to share the shared goals and objectives. Consider sharing this completed work via email before discussing in person. You’ll want the family and your advisors to be aware of the overall plan for the farm and may want to get their perspectives and input. This is part of building trust and good relationship and helps align support from the key people behind the plan you’re developing.

Having a support team helps alleviate some of the pressure of decision-making. When difficulties arise, it helps to know that a team of family members and professional advisors has thought through different challenges and weighed in on a course of action to help your plan succeed.
